Hi! :] Welcome to Web in the Round, a webring for theater fans and artists. I'm a theater artist and tech who just wants to find more people talking about the medium online! I've been told there probably isn't much overlap, but I want to prove them wrong. Theater fans can be anybody, but it's still an under-appreciated art in the digital age. My goal is to inspire more people to explore performing arts beyond what they might have read in class or heard about on Broadway, it's way more artsy and weird than you can imagine ;p theater is a medium, not a genre, and I believe everyobdy can find their niche!
This ring requires some amount of theater discussion on your site, but it doesn't have to be extensive. I want to make a place for theater fans to find more to read about what they love and make friends with similar interests, so I hope you'll understand the requirement. Being a part of the Pixelbill clique counts though, since I consider that a type of list of show's you're interested in!
I do not gatekeep people who watch bootlegs and are unable to make it to shows in-person. This ring is also not specific to Broadway or modern, western styles of musical theater. All fans of all kinds of performing arts are welcome.
Name inspo: "In the Round" is a style of performance space, where the audience sits on all sides surrounding a stage in the center. "Round" like a ring!
